COLORADO ROADS ARE NOTORIOUS FOR HARMING CARS PAINT, UNDERCARRIAGE, ELECTRICAL, AND WHATEVER ELSE THE ROCKS AND SALT TOUCH. USE THESE TIPS TO HELP KEEP YOUR CAR AS NEW AS POSSIBLE.
- Wax car 2 times a year before winter and after. Use a good brand like Mothers or Meguiars. Turtle wax is o'k too.
- Wash car after every storm. Try to find a place that has an under carriage wash or a pressure wash station. Getting dirt and grime off of the under side of your car is important to reduce corrosion, minimize electrical problems, and keep important parts lasting longer.
- Use a quality plastic and leather cleaner for interior. Armor All leaves a greasy residue. Ask Extreme Autoworks about Original Bike Spirits.
- You can pressure wash your engine compartment. Be careful not to directly hit alternator, distributor, battery, fuse boxes, or any other electrical components. For extra an extra clean engine, use a degreaser before pressure washing.
- Check air pressure in tires once a month. It is very simple yet critical that tire pressure be accurate for your vehicle. Correct air pressure not only saves gas but also allows you to control your car better.
- Change oil and filter every 3000-4000 miles or 3-5 months. It is important not to go past the 5000-mile mark. Your oil is not working properly and you will harm your engine.
- Keep all maintenance records in a file. Like you would keep your tax records, auto records are equally important.
- Clear bra your headlights! Clear bra is an auto protection clear sticky film. We can't tell you how important this can be. The replacement cost of a headlight can be hundreds of dollars. Clear bra may prevent cracks and oxidizing.
- If you have window tint, use AMMONIA FREE glass cleaner.
- Get regular alignments every 6 months to a year. Firestone has a lifetime alignment service that is well worth the money.
- Change air filter every 6 months to a year. Buy a K&N air filter and never have to change your air filter again.
- Occasionally use a fuel injector cleaner to keep injectors clean and running at optimal performance.
- Learn to check the oil, radiator coolant, wiper fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid yourself. Check every other month. Fill up when levels are low.
