Maintenance Tips for Colorado Car Owners

  5. Check air pressure in tires once a month. It is very simple yet critical that tire pressure be accurate for your vehicle. Correct air pressure not only saves gas but also allows you to control your car better.
  6. Change oil and filter every 3000-4000 miles or 3-5 months. It is important not to go past the 5000-mile mark. Your oil is not working properly and you will harm your engine.
  7. Keep all maintenance records in a file. Like you would keep your tax records, auto records are equally important.

  12. Occasionally use a fuel injector cleaner to keep injectors clean and running at optimal performance.
  13. Learn to check the oil, radiator coolant, wiper fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid and power steering fluid yourself. Check every other month. Fill up when levels are low.
  14. Don't forget to change your transmission fluid every 30,000-50,000 miles. Replacing a transmission will cost over $1000.
